About labels

The article provides an overview of the various ways you can generate and print shipping and return labels with Paazl.

Paazl offers you the following ways of generating or printing shipping and return labels:

Configuring printer settings explains how to set up various printing preferences in your Paazl web app account.

Note

If you integrate Paazl with SAP and want to print ZEBRA labels via SAP, you will first need to purchase a license for this purpose from Zebra.

SOAP API

This is the most efficient way of generating shipping and return labels, and we recommend you include it in your webshop's Paazl integration.

Paazl's SOAP API provides several webservice calls for this purpose. The calls return labels in either PDF or ZPL format, or as a Base-64 encoded string for images.

We recommend that you use the generateLabels call because its request schema includes a labelFormat attribute, which enables you to specify which format you want per call. This allows for a more flexible integration. The other calls are dedicated to a particular format and do not offer the same flexibility.

Scan & Print

Paazl Scan & Print is a Java application which you run locally on your computer. It is intended for use with a (hand-held) scanner. Warehouse operatives scan barcodes as they process packages and Scan & Print sends the appropriate labels to the printer of your choice.

Paazl web app

The Paazl web app offers you a number of different ways to generate labels for outbound shipments and returns. This functionality is intended for exceptional situations, for example where orders are changed on the fly, or if your webshop doesn't hasn't integrated Paazl's API. It is described in Generating labels.
