Stable and Latest Channel
This article explains the benefits of the Stable and Latest Channels of the Checkout Widget. This versioning system allows you to choose which version best suits your online store.
Note
This applies to both the Paazl Staging and Production environments, and you can set the versioning individually.
Available channels
There are in total two versions that you can choose for the Checkout Widget. The Stable version (default) is the fully tested and reliable version used in production and contains only proven features and updates.
The Latest version includes Paazls newest checkout features and improvements, allowing you to use the latest functionalities before they become part of the stable channel.
How does it work?
Because it ensures a smooth and reliable checkout experience for your customers, the Stable Channel is always set as the default. If you want to take advantage of the latest features and improvements as soon as possible, you can always upgrade to the Latest Channel.
Otherwise, Paazl will update the latest version to Stable every six months, making the newest features available to all users. This process starts in our Staging Environment. At this moment every Paazl user will be asked to actively test the updated Stable Channel to make sure everything works smoothly with your checkout process.
Once testing is successfully completed, we update the Stable Channel in the Production Environment, so all users can benefit from the latest improvements.
How to switch channels?
Switching between the Stable and Latest channels is quickly done. You can select your preferred channel via your Magento, Salesforce, or Shopify e-commerce platform.
The Widget Preview allows you to test new releases and see how they affect the Checkout Widget. By default, this preview page is set to the Stable channel, but you can choose the Latest version if you want access to the latest features.
Note
If you switch to the Latest channel, you'll get all new updates and changes to the Checkout Widget. It's not possible to enable only certain parts of a new release
